Unlike the traditional AC power grid, the power electronics system contains fast switching components, in order to accurately simulate this system, the simulation step size should be close to 1/50 or 1/100 of PWM period, it means that the step size should be in the range of several hundred nanoseconds to several microseconds. Such small step size makes the real-time simulation very challenging.



StarSim HIL leverages Backward Euler Solver and FPGA hardware to achieve the small step size  power electronics real time simulation.
